In Greco-Roman mythology Mercury was the messenger of the gods. The astrological archetype of Mercury is associated with the transfer of data. All types of communication reflect Mercury, including speaking, writing, gesturing, and thinking. Mercury is also associated with the ways in which we receive and process data, such as listening, perceiving, and contemplating. If we consider ourselves to be packets of data, small trips are associated with Mercury in that they demonstrate the movement of ourselves as data in a larger cognitive process.
