Moon-Venus

Moon-Venus combines the emotions, comfort, family, and home of the Moon with the Venus' association with the pleasure, beauty, love, and art.

This combination can be reflected in life in sweet interactions (Venus) that are both friendly (Venus) and familial-like (Moon), spending quality times with friends (Venus) while enjoying nourishment (Moon), though also having experiences in which emotional interactions (Moon) can be cloyingly sweet (Venus).

Below are examples of famous people born with this combination in their natal charts (natal chart is another word for astrological birth chart, or pictographic representation of the sky when they were born). When we witness how this combination shows up in the lives of others, we can become more self-aware of how this combination shows up in our own lives. The more we are conscious of the ways astrological alignments (otherwise known as “aspects”) show up in our lives, the more the archetypal tensions involved can become integrated in our lives, thus revealing inherent strengths to us.

Please note that the tension of this archetypal combination, as illustrated in the lives and creations of the famous people in the examples below, may be demonstrated in ways that are more integrated or less integrated.

  • The Moon-Venus combination in the chart of author Edgar Allan Poe can be seen in the following quotes that combine the love and beauty of Venus with the emotions and maternal nurturance of the Moon: “Beauty of whatever kind, in its supreme development, invariably excites the sensitive soul to tears.” “Because I feel that, in the Heavens above, The angels, whispering to one another, Can find, among their burning terms of love, None so devotional as that of ‘Mother.’” This combination is also demonstrated in the joining of love (Venus) with family (Moon) in the author’s marriage to his own cousin. The Moon-Venus combination in the natal chart of actor Michael J. Fox can also be seen in the joining of love (Venus) with family (Moon) in his role as Marty McFly in “Back to the Future,” who time travels into the past where his own mother (Moon) develops a crush (Venus) on him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-7zmor7VvY

  • The Moon-Venus combination in the chart of singer Vince Neil, shows up in the following song and video entitled, “Home Sweet Home.” The Moon is associated with the home, while Venus is associated with sweetness. Also, Vince Neil exemplifies this combination is his fashion style, including light colored clothing such as white and pink, long blond hair that appears fluffy and soft, sparkly trinkets hanging from his outfit, and make up and lipstick that softens his appearance. Even though Vince Neil is a masculine man, this combination tempers his appearance and demeanor with the feminine qualities of the Moon and Venus. This can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGz7kKGSIH8. The combination also shows up in this video in a clip of him blowing kisses at pinup girls, and in images of young women affectionately hugging and embracing him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gmrh42foUsg .

  • The Moon-Venus combination in the chart of singer Goapele can be seen in the following song and music video, in which words that invite romantic love and sensual pleasure (Venus) are linked with the nourishing (Moon) qualities of milk and honey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WYggG0ercw

  • The Moon-Venus combination can show up in examples of beauty (Venus) that connote a childlike innocence (Moon). We can see this in the example of musician Cyndi Lauper, born with the Moon-Venus combination in her birth chart, whose signature beauty includes the full cheeks of a “baby face” as seen here.
