Venus-Uranus

Venus-Uranus combines the pleasure, love, and beauty of Venus with the freedom, rebelliousness, and eccentricity of Uranus.

This combination can show up in ways that include, but are not limited to, an attraction (Venus) to the thrill (Uranus) of the new (Uranus) love (Venus), the beauty (Venus) that is revolutionary (Uranus), and an approach to art (Venus) that is technological and innovative (Uranus).

Below are examples of famous people born with this combination in their natal charts (natal chart is another word for astrological birth chart, or pictographic representation of the sky when they were born). When we witness how this combination shows up in the lives of others, we can become more self-aware of how this combination shows up in our own lives. The more we are conscious of the ways astrological alignments (otherwise known as “aspects”) show up in our lives, the more the archetypal tensions involved can become integrated in our lives, thus revealing inherent strengths to us.

Please note that the tension of this archetypal combination, as illustrated in the lives and creations of the famous people in the examples below, may be demonstrated in ways that are more integrated or less integrated.

  • The unique (Uranus) artist (Venus) can be seen in the Venus-Uranus combination in the chart of Elvis Presley: “People ask me where I got my singing style. I didn't copy my style from anybody.” The way in which Elvis moved his pelvis made him a revolutionary (Uranus) sex symbol (Venus). In the following quote we can see the Venus-Uranus tendency to prefer freedom (Uranus) in love (Venus): “The closest I ever came to getting married was just before I started singing. In fact, my first record saved my neck.”

  • Venus-Uranus combination’s association with a love (Venus) of modernity (Uranus) and technology (Uranus) can be seen in life Jonathan Richman, who was born with this combination in his natal chart. His band was called “The Modern Lovers,” and the hit song he wrote entitled “Roadrunner,” includes the line “I’m in love with the modern world.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy88-5pc7c8

  • The Venus-Uranus combination in the birth chart of comedian, actor, and social commentator, Russel Brand, can be seen in his persona as a sort of wild and free (Uranus) lover (Venus), and his public image as a combined sex symbol (Venus) and revolutionary (Uranus), complete with long, unkempt hair. His ability to combine the pleasures of sex (Venus) with the humorous eccentricity associated with Uranus, can be seen in the following quote: “I like threesomes with two women, not because I'm a cynical sexual predator. Oh no! But because I'm a romantic. I'm looking for "The One." And I'll find her more quickly if I audition two at a time.”

  • The Venus-Uranus sometimes shows up as the sparkly or strange (Uranus) love (Venus). This combination in the birth chart of actor Robert Pattinson can be seen in the movie “Twilight,” in which he plays the role of a handsome (Venus) vampire who sparkles (Uranus) in the sunlight. Here is a clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHse6q92lb0 . Similarly, the movie “Twilight” is about the strange (Uranus) love affair (Venus) between a human and a vampire.

  • The Venus-Uranus combination in the birth chart of singer Nelly Furtado can be seen in her song, “Promiscuous,” in which expresses the thrill (Uranus) of sexual pleasure (Venus) while asserting her independence (Uranus) in love (Venus): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rjTCHp-al8

  • The Venus-Uranus combination in the birth chart of artist and author Miranda July can be seen in her novel “All Fours,” which one reviewer called “a spectacularly horny story about pursuing sexual and creative freedom.”
